This meeting at the "Lusail" stadium, in front of almost 89,000 spectators, was marked by Álvarez, with two goals and a forced penalty, or Messi, who converted the penalty, and also recorded a phenomenal assist for the third goal.
Messi also reached his 11th goal at the World Cup, surpassing compatriot Gabriel Batistuta.
