1. I am going to make one more comment and drop this.Mark is a Canadian name, not Albanian
From what you use... Niall O'Doherty... as a name sure does not sound Serbian, but as my wife has told me many times over the years ,look the other way.
But i also learned somthing else and it does not sound good since we are on the net, but here it goes.

Lako da se deres na generala iz sume, nego idi ispred njega pa se deri.

Than why this "give us southern Serbia"? Who's "us" Mark? I presume you mean Albanian. For goodness sake, making inflammatory comments like that only serve to stir up emotions and have no practical purpose whatsoever.

Why do you call murderers patriots? The real patriots in Serbia are those who care for its good name and who despise Mladic, Milosevic, etc. for the evil they did and the evil selfish thinking that motivated them.

However, Merkle is as temporary as any democratic politician. Serbia should stand by its 'parallel' institutions - otherwise the Serbs will have to leave Kosovo so completing the ethnic cleansing so long practiced by the Albanians.

The EU is without strong, sensible and accountable leadership. That is what needs to change before Serbia joins.

  4. Who is us? Brits? Germans? French? With that name of yours you must come from one of those countries. Or are you an albanian using a foreign name as usual?
    (MikeC, 6 September 2011 21:36)

Well, you get what you deserve, or better yet not deserve.

    MikeC,

I don’t think that Mike is a Serbian name either, is it now?!

    Pls say it is so!!!

I would not be surprised if his Green Card of American passport is already waiting for him in the US embassy in Belgrade once the time is right to abandon ship. They will probably put him in some non-profit think that studies non-violent integration in multi-cultural societies.

  7. I remember a decade ago there was talk of Serbia being in the EU by 2008, then it was pushed back and so on and so on. Guess what the dates will continually be pushed back, but who knows how long the EU will exist? Please Serbia look after yourself and do not APPEASE!!! Sincerely across the ocean.

  8. Just why bother with the Eu crap? 2019? That's a joke. More like 2119 or 1,000,000. Serbia should be a member by the end of this year! It has become a total EU slave state. Handing over patriots, giving away territory, scrapping its self governance. Serbia is not even a real country anymore for EU purposes.

  11. A comment from a reader on your post, Niall: "The Eurozone was destined to fail from the start, because it represented the dreams of elites and bankers and NOT the common people"
This is so true. The EU is well on its way to implode, under the weight of its own greed. It did not look after the good of its members, but chose members, who were not equals, for its own benefit and exploitation. Now those, not so desireable members, are pulling them down into a pit of no return. What in the world is an economic union doing occuppying territory in the Balkans? Instead of concentrating on benefiting its members, the Union chose to divide and conquer. I, for one, am happy to see this EU monster collapse under its own imperialist waste.

  16. Is this surprising? Croatia got the EU candidate status in 2005, and will likely become the 28th EU member state in 2013. Let's calculate: 8 years. Serbia will likely become EU candidate in 2011. Now add 8 years and - what do you get?

  18. Why is it for politicians impossible to tell it like it is? We are getting so used to politicians telling "white" lies that is it any wonder that the average voter has no confidence in the system anymore. The world needs Wikileaks, if only to remind politicians that they were voted into power in order to serve the public and if they fail they should be held accountable. Unfortunately, these days most politicians don't see it that way because they are too busy servicing their own interests.
    (T, 6 September 2011 10:21)

Exactly, we are all to quick to judge other countries but we in Europe should take a look at our own leaders. I can tell you for one thing Gaddafi had far more legitimacy than Van Rompuy or Ashton, who Tadic loves so much. Also, say what you want about the likes of Ahmadinejad and Assad, but I'd dare anyone to watch an interview with them and find a European leader who is straighter and gets to the point quicker than either of them.
