“Reconciliation is to us a moral imperative, and in order for that to happen the truth has to be told without embellishing it. It has to be based on facts, truth about bloodshed that must never happen again in this region,” Tadić said in a statement published by Večernje Novosti today.
He underscored that we also comprehend reconciliation as condemnation and distancing from crimes committed by individuals, who had falsely claimed that they act on our national behalf, and from the policy that supported violence and hatred.
Tadić pointed out that by assuming the initiative in the process of regional reconciliation, Serbia had opened doors to the others, strongly believing that together we can build a safe and prosperous future for all citizens on our common path to the European Union.
According to his evaluation, Serbia demonstrated courage and historic maturity by adopting the resolution condemning the crime committed in Srebrenica.
“But, during the civil wars in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, all conflicting sides committed atrocious crimes, which is why we hope that the parliaments of other countries in the region will have the strength to face the truth and condemn the crimes committed against all innocent victims,” said Tadić.
This is a feeble attempt at reconciliation. Mladic is still at large, Kosovo is held hostage,Albanian flag gets burned every Sunday Crvena Zvezda plays,Kosovo Serbs get radicalized by Belgrade, crimes in Vukovar, Kosovo,Sarajevo commited by Serb paras are almost never acknowledged, and now honorable mr. Tadic expects the other Balkan states to bow with respect to the Serb Parliament? You have to do better than that Mr. President.

I admire Tadic's courage. All Serbs have to recognize the crimes committed in and around Srebrenica. Now, I hope that the Bosniaks will admit the crimes committed by ORIC.

Also the Croats and Albanians. Let's not forget the crimes committed by NATO as well.
We can hope all we want but this is not going to happen.
I think Tadic should've waited till the others decided to do the same and then then could've all announced their resolutions together. Without the others doing the same Serbia will go down in hisotry as the only agressor and this is being exploited by our enemies every day. They keep comong on here blaming the Serbs for all the deaths during that war, forgetting that Croats killed Muslims and the KLA also killed Albanians.
A distorted truth is just as dangerous as a lie.

Mr. Tadic... How does this compare to the 1.2 million Serbs exterminated by the Croats, "Bosniaks" and Albanians in the past century? How does this compare to Croatian & Albanian terror against the Serbs from 1946 up to today? How does this compare to all those Serbs murdered in and around Srebrenica long before the alledged Srebrenica crime occured?
I would say that Serbian crimes pale considerably compared to those crimes of peoples you are so persistant to appoligize to. Your actions make it more aware with each passing day that the KPJ was just as guilty of those crimes against Serbs in the past century and even today. But, rest assured, you are not hiding anything, least of all your policy regarding Serbia and Republika Srpska.

I totally agree. Serbia which Tadic is representing can for example stop hiding mass graves in Serbia with the bodies of massacred Albanians. It is absolutely distasteful how Serbia is timing the revelations of mass graves with Albanians. The same goes for Albanians in case they know where the bodies of missing Serbs are.
