“The terms of the cabinet deal we’ve reached are clear. The Prime Minister and I will appoint the BIA chief and decide on the way the Agency will work. In my opinion, security structures should not be led by politicians or politically-oriented persons, rather by impartial professionals,” Tadić said.
The president confirmed to the Večernje Novosti newspaper that he was yet to inform Koštunica of the candidates he had in mind for the post.
“I will hear all suggestions, but will not allow for the instrumentalization of BIA. The political orientation of the current BIA chief Rade Bulatović is rather obvious,” Tadić said, referring to Bulatović's affiliation with Koštunica.
Pres. Tadics selection will be determined by Mr. Polt, just as his selection of Mr. Jeremic was. Amb. Polt blames Serbia for strong Russian stance in the UNSC. Unable to sway PM Kostunica he will continue to apply pressure on the Pres. and his pseudo FM.
