Members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Criminal Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office for Organized Crime and the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office, Special Prosecutor's Office for Combating High-Tech Crime, identified locations of a total of 19 e-mail addresses - 18 Gmail services threatening messages originated from.

They also identified one e-mail address of the ProtonMail service, from which threatening messages about bombs planted at various locations in Serbia arrived. Members of the Serbian police also identified a person who, during the previous day, sent threats of the same content over the phone.

In order to identify the perpetrators of these threats and prosecute them for the crimes committed, and given that these are foreign nationals who do not live in Serbia, the international exchange of data between the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, through Europol and Interpol, with the authorities of Sweden, Lithuania, Switzerland, the Russian Federation and Hungary, as well as with Google is underway.

From March 11th this year until today, hundreds of threatening messages about alleged explosive devices placed in public places or institutions have arrived on 48 occasions by e-mail or phone calls to the addresses of various institutions in Serbia.

Threatening messages were sent from Gmail, ProtonMail, Eunet mail, Yandex, as well as through anonymous phone calls. Some citizens of Serbia also sent threatening messages in the previous days.

Due to false reports about bombs planted in public buildings, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs prosecuted eight people, citizens of Serbia, in four days - two people were arrested, and criminal charges were filed against six other minors in regular proceedings.

Ministry of the Interior of Serbia appeals to individuals to act responsibly and in accordance with the law, especially at a time when Serbia is exposed to mass and organized cyber attacks and false reports of bombs coming from abroad.

False report about the planted bomb is not a joke, but a serious crime, which can cause anxiety and fear of the citizens of Serbia and requires additional engagement of members of the Ministry of the Interior.

In the last three days alone, members of the Police Brigade, i.e. specialist teams for anti-sabotage protection, with specially trained police officers and police dogs, conducted counter-sabotage inspections of several hundred public buildings, schools, hospitals and shopping malls.

Check-ups revealed that all reports were false.
