"When Djokovic retires, people will appreciate more what he did"

Croft told Amazon Prime that she finds it most interesting when she talks to the six-time Wimbledon champion.
"All three players from that so-called big three are interesting when you interview them. Novak is a real intellectual, his handling of English is impressive, he has a great hunger for information. He will always go a step further in search of information about his heart, lungs, intake of food, sleeping pattern... He's the last tennis professional. I can't praise him enough and it saddens me when I see he doesn't get the support and appreciation he deserves", Croft says.
She is aware of the importance of Djokovic in the world of tennis.
"No one will stop loving Federer and Nadal, but maybe when every one of them hangs the rackets on the peg, people will start to appreciate more what Novak did for tennis," Annabel concluded. Novak Djokovic will try to reach the 21st Grand Slam trophy in his career in New York and become the first player after Rod Laver to win a calendar slam.
The US Open begins on August 30 and ends on September 12.
If Djokovic wasn't a Serb then he would be lauded as the best tennis player in history, but since he is a Serb then that's different.
As I have said many times Djokovic needs to win as many grand slams before he retires and once he does that's when the western tennis officials will start to try and correct what they did during his time as a player by offering awards etc.
The best response by Djokovic is to just say when it would have mattered they played politics but now these awards are meaningless and they should try and avoid repeating their mistakes.
This will have a reverberating affect throughout all sports. It would be like 10 on the Richter scale earthquake.

I really don't know that Djokovic's records are not appreciated. He is undoubtedly one of the best of all time and you can read any media outlet you want, from the Guardian to the BBC, all sports writers say as much. I think it's fair to say that he isn't as popular or as loved as Federer or Nadal, or at least that seemed to be the case when I watched certain matches, but that doesn't mean to say people don't recognise that his record is imperious. What seems to bother some, is that certain tennis fans prefer the other two. It's not a big deal, you can't get everyone to like you and it's a waste of time to even try

What I have posted is not an idle statement nor do I have anything against Nadal or Federer. I'm talking about western politics and their media. You see I know who they work. If Djokovic was 40 years old and ranked No2 or 3 the western journos would be asking indirect and some even questions whether he is taking something; a point that has never been raised about say Serena Williams or Federer.
Anyone who doubts western tactics lives in pixy land.
