That would be ideal case, but I don't think that EU can actually prove that it is based on law. For example, they invented Badinter's Commission that "ruled" that Yugoslavia doesn't exist, and that there could not be separation from any Yugoslavian republics....then they recognized Kosovo?!
Or to mention another case - there is European Court in Strasbourg ruling that Croatia must return nationalised property to the Serbs from Krajina. It was even a "condition" for Croatia joining the EU....and it was quietly dropped.
So, I agree. Serbia should not be given the green light to join the EU, until EU proves it is based on the rule of law. That won't happened as it is obvious that EU is not based on rule of law.

Well your Croatia is in NATO and in the EU so what went wrong there? It kicked out 250,000 Serbs and did it prosper? NO. In fact, it went down the shit hole where 21.9% of its population, not counting the Serb ethnic cleansing, have left never to return. Today you would be lucky to have 2.9 million LOL.
Slovenia is in the EU and NATO and it had a population of 2 million when it left Yugoslvaia, but now it’s the same size as Belgrade. I see success after success upon joining the EU.

In that case Serbia will become Europe's Venezuela, surrounded by EU and NATO countries. I'm afraid Serbia won't do what you're asking for, I would like that to happen.

Look at how "successful" Croatia has turned out in the EU - not taking into account the Serb they forced out, it has lost, yes lost, nearly 22% of its population - its empty. So how has Croatia benefited since joining the EU? Serbs have no ambitions to join the EU – its an act. The EU gives them money and they say they wish to join but they never will.
The last time one of your politicians tried to do something over commencement of talks with EU I think it was M. Kovac Merkel sent an official and forced Kovac to put his signature on the documents.
Slovenia had a population of nearly 2 million when leaving Yugoslavia, but today it’s the same size as Belgrade.
The EU is no longer that cash cow of the 1990s and early 2000s.

Have no fear, Serbia has no chance of being able to join the EU, so you can relax. However, I am afraid many Serbs actually living in Serbia will be very disappointed as they have been waiting a very long time for this privilege to improve their lives. I have been to Serbia many times and have seen the poor conditions the Serbs must live under.

Did Serbia welcome Hitler? No.
Did Serbia murder approx one million civilians in WW2? No.
Did Serbia cleanse approx half a million people in the 90s? No.
And before you bark on about Kosovo here are some facts for you.....
Serbs in 90s Croatia were not asking for independence, just security. Cant blame them really considering what nazi Croats did to them in the 40s.
In Kosovo Albos aim was to steal Serbian land. There was no ethnic cleansing. People started to run to Albania, Macedonia and Montenegro to avoid nato bombs. Fact.
So I'm afraid that there is no comparison. Croatia has by far the bloodiest hands in the W Balkans. And Albanians are the biggest theaves by stealing land in this case.

Mr.Bosnjakovic your impudence is breathtaking and your,apparently,complete amnesia regarding what successive Croatian nationalist governments have done to the Serbian populations in Croatia and beyond it's borders in Bosnia is one for the archives. My grandmother and aunt(7 YEARS OLD) were hacked to death in 1941 by your "heroic" Ustashe in Western Bosnia among hundreds of thousands of others across the region who met the same fate and you talk about war criminals? No-one has ever answered for those crimes and likely never will,but that's on your nation's collective conscience and for me that's probably justice enough as you can't erase the reality of what you did in the name of Croatia. As for the "war" that you're referring to,there's similar culpability among your bloodthirsty hordes for the death,destruction and expulsion they wreaked on the Serbian populace of those regions in the 90's. You should be chasing those people instead of glorifying them and resigning from the EU instead of trying to stop a country that is worthy of joining from doing so (Personally I'd recommend the British and Swiss positions,better out than in). How Croatia ever got in,having evicted 15% of it's own population baffles me to this day.However politics is a very dirty business and justice very low on the agenda.
