There is no EU aid for the Serbia. Brussels is in an economic mess themselves but they do give 225 million annually to keep the politicians singing the EU song of being a part of that union, but that's chicken feed if it was split that up between the people in Serbia; in fact it not enough to buy a couple of cups of coffee per month per person.
The EU gives money for infrastructure projects aka roads that are also beneficial to them.
The reason Serbia is not any closer to joining the EU, and I hope they never get there, is the EU cannot meet its financial obligations to new member states. If I am wrong then why haven't Montenegro, Macedonia or Albania joined? Last year Croatia would put 1 billion Euros into the EU fund and withdraw 3 billion over 12 months.
New arrangements are Croatia now puts in 1 billion and can only withdraw 2 billion. If corruption was an issue then Bulgari, Romania and Croatia would not be in the EU. Romania is the worst.
The only “aid” on offer to Serbia are offers of credit to help their economy but Belgrade has to pay the money back. It’s the same with Croatia but Zagreb is selling this as financial assistance which is certainly is not.

If Alzheimers Joe comes into office he will have to deal with a flatline economy mired in a Depression and blame Trump or his mishandling of the situation.

There is a saying that a week in politics is a long time.
Its also a dirty business and you can bet that scandals will appear as the US election nears. I can imagine more women coming forward to accuse Biden of sexual assult. Trumps guys will "find" evidence against China and the virus. You get the point, right?
On this site though we see Albanians praying for Biden to win. Thats because Biden was a hawk and encouraged US aggression around the world. And they think he will bomb Serbia and loves Albanians.
But in reality, if Biden does win he has to deal with 40+m unemployed in America. The virus may still be lingering or could return in winter. Will protests calm down?
Then there is the huge national debt to deal with.
I suspect that Kosovo will not be on the front page of the to do list. I think Americans are fed up of seeing the US engage in more foreign wars. And I bet most Americans dont even know where Kosovo is, and neither do they care about Albanians. They dont care about Serbs either.

Ray Horton, good post from you. Good to see some reasoned debate for a change.
The corona virus will see many governments fall. Here in the UK we have dreadful figures, particularly the number of deaths.
As for America, what a sad situation. And you have to feel for Trump. He did get it wrong on the virus, but so have many others. He also has the unfortunate riots at the same time. These matters have seen 40+m lose their jobs and the US in even bigger debt than before.
As for the elections I suspect its not so clear cut. Biden seems to be losing it. He talks jibberish and people scratch their heads.
I'm sure Trump will jump on that. There is also the lingering stench of accusations of pediphelia and sexual assults over Biden. May be BS but you can bet your life Trumps lot will jump on it. The live debates will not do Biden much good as Trump is the better at these things. Anyway, the elections are months away and things change.
I think it will be closer than you.
Clinton was favourite in 2016 but still lost.

No normal American will vote for Trump, we have learned our lesson the hard way. Biden will win by default. The polls show that Biden is way ahead. I doubt even Trump’s children will vote for him. People are saying Trump is responsible for over 80% of the deaths due to covid 19 because he waited too long before taking any action. If he had put restrictions on two weeks earlier, over 80,000 lives would have been saved, according to experts in the health field. Furthermore, the US Government would have save over one trillion dollars. The orange baboon must go!!!

I must confirm what Darko stated a few days ago. There is really no help being offered to Serbia by the EU. Quite possibly, Serb officials are stealing any money donated from Europe or elsewhere as corruption is rampant in the Serb Government. This is one of the reasons why Serbia is so slow in joining the EU, corruption is the biggest criticism from EU concerning Serbia.

Serbia has today a lot of support around the world, including a now powerful Russia and China. 5 EU states stuck to their guns and still dont recognise Kosovo. 18 nations revoked Kosovo recognition.

Now I keep in constant touch with family in Kragujevac and they don’t complain about higher food prices, but perhaps they are better off. I live in Sydney Australia and food prices in the supermarket, butcher shops, green grocers are going up if not fortnightly then on a monthly basis. To give you an idea; cevapi, six months ago they were 12 in a packet for $7 today its 8 for $9.
As far as seeing that “aid” is concerned, it’s actually compensation to manufactures who are affected by the tariffs and not aid. The EU pays the Serbian government then the government redistributes that money to the producers.
The only people that get screwed are Albos in Kosovo. They end up paying higher prices with same income.

I did notice when visiting Serbia that in Serbia there is
NO PRICE CONTROL A single item is increased by greedy companies in some cases 4 times.
Darko main Problem in Serbia is not having Price control.
In UK if there is a price increase is just by 1 penny. And we still grumble.

No surprise here since ever the most determined suporter of an independent Kosovo saw that Albos cannot government themselves no matter what you do or what resources you put to them. Haradjin, the buffoon, huffed and puffed then put on the tariffs, but Serbia easily sided stepped them, then the west had to get rid of him and put in Kurti thinking he was much smarter, but turned out to be even more inept.
Just for the record despite what you hear Serbian officials complaining about these tariffs and the "cost" to Belgrade, that BS as compensation is paid by the EU. Result? Albo in Kosovo are paying higher prices for everything because of the tax increase via the tariffs while Belgrade is compensated by Brussels LOL. Don't ask me to explain because I find it just as hard to understand it.
