In a conversation with daily "Danas", he points out that Albanians from the Presevo Valley want to be an active participant in the talks on the status of Kosovo.
"I think that in the last few years, Tirana has been very proactive in terms of offering useful assistance to the Albanians in the south. Several ministers in the local government have taken concrete steps, first of all the Minister of Education Besa Shahini, who also had a meeting with her Serbian colleague regarding the problems of education in the Presevo Valley," Ragmi Mustafa told "Danas".
Mustafa also states that the Albanian head of diplomacy, Gent Cakaj, was a "key factor" in dynamizing relations and reaching an agreement on the joint appearance of Albanian political parties in the upcoming elections in Serbia.
According to what "Danas" interlocutor states, the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina is in the last phase of negotiations and will be binding for both sides. The political situation in Kosovo, as in Serbia, is a determining challenge for both sides, he believes.
"A new dialogue is necessary between equals in order to achieve lasting peace. This means that any possible topic that can be the subject of negotiations, from the external border, constitutional order, internal administrative-territorial regulation, natural resources and economic property, minority rights, war crimes, to determining the fate of the missing, presents a task for both countries in dialogue", Mustafa concluded.
Albanians from three municipalities in the Presevo Valley have asked to be part of this dialogue. First of all, in accordance with the decision of the "Assembly of Albanian councilors of Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja" as the currently largest politically informal body.
Mustafa reminds of the position of this body of Albanians, which was adopted in July 2018, according to which Albanians asked not only to be the subject of this dialogue, but also an active participant, in order to ensure lasting peace in this part of the Balkans as well.
He also states that the biggest problem is still the process of integration of Albanians into public and institutional life, and assesses it as a "step backwards", warning that it is difficult for Albanians from the south to get a job as toll collectors, let alone get jobs elsewhere, which is being decided by some other levels of government.

The continual shrill from the KLA terrorists and their foreigner sponsors begging Serbia is a matter of fact. The UN and the UNSC through UNSCR 1244 reaffirm KiM as an integral part of Serbia.

Haris, I have to disagree with you on some points.
You assume that the Serbian people want EU membership. But opinion polls indicate otherwise. So how can they "lose" possible membership if they dont want it? Serbia gets a lot of grants etc from the EU. I wonder if Vucic is saying the right things to get this funding but knows that Serbia will never join.
You also have to admit that the likes of China really are the rising power. In 10 or so years they will overtake America in a lot of ways. So its wise for Serbia to keep good relations.
As for Kosovo, well thats far from done. How long has it been and half the worlds nations dont recognise it. I recall in 95 when Croat forces kicked out a quarter of a million Serb civilians, and nobody cared. When the situation arises this could happen in Kosovo. And how many times have borders changed in the Balkans over the past 600 years? What makes you sure it wont ever happen again??
Its a different world now with new powers emerging, while the US and EU are declining and debt ridden as well as huge social problems.
I'm afraid nothing is sorted or fixed. Im convinced of that.

View,
Yes the world is changing or should I say, has changed in a most unexpected and dramatic manner. In the West, it is called A Black Swan Event. To make matters worse America has a vengeful rogue President. Already, the major Think Tanks are predicting that the rich will only get richer whereas the poor poorer. This is meant not only on a personal level, but also on a corporate and even governmental level. I fear this does not bode well for countries such as Serbia.
(Haris Barnov, 30 May 2020 18:58)
Mr.View:
It is not a matter of losing Kosovo/a since it is already lost. What the option is, to lose only Kosova/o with a good chance of eventually gaining EU membership or to lose both. Even if Kosovo/a does not join the UN Immediately, it will eventually. What is important and a very good chance of happening soon is to join NATO, then become an EU member. After that, becoming a UN member is an eventuality. If you recall, even being admitted to FIFA and participating in the Olympics was blocked by Serbia.
(Haris Barnov, 30 May 2020 17:26)
Haris, very good question and for a change something sensible to debate rather than Albanian hate and nationalism.
My honest view (for many reasons) is that Serbias chances of joining the EU are very slim, regardless of Russias input. Serbia will most likely never join, which appears to be popular with their population. It seems to me that its the "elite" who want membership but opinion polls indicate a majority do not want to join the EU.
The price the EU (Germany in reality) is asking is too much for the people of Serbia. Tell me a country anywhere that would give up a chunk of their land to join a club run by Germany?
Mr Vucic knows very well that his career would be over if he signed to give away Kosovo for nothing more than a promise.
The world is changing. China and Russia are rising. The US and the EU are swimming in debt. Serbia should never join the EU and certainly never give away any land.

Mr Mustafa, I find it really funny when Albanuans like you talk of Kosovo and Serbia as two countries.
This most certainly is not the case as a quick glance at the UN will confirm that Kosovo is a Serbian province. That IS a fact, no matter how much you dont like it.
I've said many times that both sides must come to the table without any preconditions. Best would be for Belgrade and Pristina to talk without any foreign influence. But of course Albos insist on America holding their hand and are hoping for the Yanks to bully Serbia. If Pristina wants America at their side then Serbia must demand Russia at their side. Then its equal, dont you agree??
After all, Albos keep telling the world how "democratic" they are, so with Russia at Serbias side it makes it democratic, equal, balanced, right......???
