Russia's spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin's proposal to hold such a meeting.
Peskov recalled that the head of state suggested that such a meeting could take place "in any place in the world".
"The founder countries of the United Nations, the five states that hold special responsibility to save civilisation, can and must be an example," he said at the sombre memorial ceremony.
The meeting would "play a great role in searching for collective answers to modern challenges and threats," Putin said, adding that Russia was "ready for such a serious conversation."
"Forgetting the past, and disunity in the face of threats, can lead to frightening consequences," Putin said.
Countries must "do everything to protect and defend peace," he added.
Speaking in Jerusalem at an event marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, Putin argued that the countries that created a new global order after World War II should cooperate to solve today's problems.
French leader Emmanuel Macron backed the proposal, China also, while the UK said it expected further details from Russia on this issue.
Can any of you deny that America has been at peace for only a handful of years in its history?

Same with France, UK, Russia / Soviet Union. And also Portugal, Spain and Roman Empire in their best years. Let's not count the Aztecs and Inca Kingdom.
Inca Kingdom is responsible for gender imbalance of Paraguay which still affects that country. Imagine, how much Paraguay is at peace with Bolivia.
And "peace" of China, Babylon or Japan's samurai?

Come on Albanians, I'm waiting for a logical answer to my question......what is wrong with the worlds powers coming together to try to come to peaceful and just solutions to the many problems??
Can any of you deny what Jimmy Carter said last year, namely that the US is the most warlike nation in the history of the world???
Do you think Mr Carter is Serbian???.....LOL...

I’m glad you brought this up. You see people who suffer from a mental illness don’t realise they are sick. One of the many topics I studied at University was psychology.
A close family friend is a psychiatrist and despite having studied this subject many years ago she agreed with that statement. In fact, I gave her a couple of your posts and her response was you don’t know much but are desperate to appear that you do, while she said MSG suffers from delusions of grandeur.

I have an interesting observation, maybe I am wrong... but the normal human reaction if someone just appears in a new forum (cafe, pub, club, kafana) just to observe first, than ask questions.
Than maybe get engaged in a conversation with people who are likely in good mood or have similar views. Later things can heat up, but the first few meetings are usually introductions and questions.
What do you guys think if someone enters the room loudly, starts yelling at the waiter and assumed opponents and loudly sits down, breaking the chair.
And he behaves like a regular, who knows everyone for years.
We have a few guests lately here like this.
In an e-forum my first reaction would be "heck, this is a new face of an old troll".
And I start to recall, who did the same in the past.
My list is long, but I lost it on one of my three neglected farms. Maybe O'Sleazy. Mr. Monosodium glutamate ("MSG"), Rok Camaj, or our "new" U.S. Marine (keyboard) warrior could help me out...

SJ....... the moron with the Make Serbia Great title is full of hot air, BS and never brings any measured arguments to the debate. Instead its just insults while ignoring real issues on this site.
Albanians will not critcise America one bit for their policy of constant war somewhere in the world. I guess they will soon be saying that Jimmy Carter is Serbian......LOL.
I ask again......what is bad about the big powers coming together to try to make the world a better place, to debate problems and find solutions???
I'll bet all the tea in China that had it been the US asking for such a gathering Albanians would be applauding them. But we all know that, sadly, the Americans will not do such a dumb thing like finding real solutions, peace, etc. It does not suit their agenda of perpetual war, because war is business.
Its a sad world indeed.

Albanians, tell us what is wrong with the proposal...??
Of course the US does not want peace. It wants perpetual war, as their history proves.
President Carter is right when he said last year that America is the most warlike nation in the history of the world.
Albanians will never say anything against the Americans. If the Yanks said the sky is green, grass is blue and the moon is made of cheese
Albanians would just nod their heads.......

I enjoy reading others’ wishful thinking, but enjoy it even more after others awaken from their worst nightmares with an unbearable hangover. I am pleased as punch that my permanent member of the UN Security Council will exercise his veto, much to Putin’s dismay.

.... and the USA had no comment as they quickly realized that this is no solution to their 26 trillion dollar debt. The USA would rather continue to prop their fake relative stability by systematically and perpetually destabilizing others.

The US government obviously does very well destabilizing your mood. Or were you born this way?
