Your belief in "mercy" is so extreme that it cancels God's love of righteousness. For example, the prodigal son. God rejoiced in the younger sons return because it was a return to God's kingdom and righteousness. In your practical application of this text, you would have God rejoicing while the prodigal was still living as an ungodly rebellious son.

I bet you've come in contact with many people who are gay of which some might have even performed surgery on you if you ever had one.
Maybe that cure for whatever you've had was discovered by a gay person. Who knows how and in how many ways a gay person has enriched your life that you will never be aware of but here you are belittling someone because of it.
Being straight doesn't guarantee you intelligence or good manners.
