Earlier today, the mission announced they were monitoring with great concern the current development of the situation in northern Kosovo, including the fact that the Kosovo police detained two on duty UN personnel.
Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Kosovo and UNMIK chief Zahir Tanin said that two UN personnel were arrested during the Kosovo police action in the north and asked Pristina to release them urgently.
"I urge all parties to abide by the principles of the rule of law and dignity when it comes to the life and liberty of all and to help restore peace and security in the region," Tanin said.

Yep, Watcherovic - but Chiaj Chishiqi consistently calls me Albanian.
Nothing wrong with that - except that I am not.
Few days ago I personally did encounter such "Albanian" (from Dagestan) to demand a Russian visa for his Hungarian g/f and his baby. They got a free one... but everyone in the visa office moved slightly away, just in case he may have a gun.
So anyway, calling a Juhuro or a Dagi "Albanian" may involve some shooting. And it hurts.
See the man having "патронташ" and "кортик"?
Normally, there are patrons in "патронташ" and "кортик" is a sharp dagger. That's just in case of the misnomer, like calling us "Albanian". Nothing wrong with "Albanian", but the proper words are something like "Juhuro", "Jew", "Russian", "Dagi" and so on. Humble request: use the proper words, all the later are OK. The former is not correct. Given our testosterone level and being hotheads, there is only one chance to correct the mistake ;)

Ah, these Albanian - Russian love/hate relations.
Few years ago I lost myself in PR. GPS was of little use.
An Albanian pedestrian was looking at my car passing him the second or the third time.
At the end he offered his help to guide me to N-Kosovo. Looking at the license plates he simply stated, he does not believe, I am originally from the States - instead, he believes, I am from Russia.
Of course.
He was exited to have the opportunity to help and stayed in the car until I was safely on the correct way to the North. Any money was refused.
Peter rocks.....Pristina released the Russian because you know what would happen if you dodnt. Albos are scared of Russia.
Kosovo respects international law?? LOL..... Pristina pissed on res 1244, broke CEFTA agreement, ignored Brussels agreement, etc.
Kosovo is awash with drugs and run by a mafia. Respect for int. law..... dont be silly.

Remember during the 1990’s when Radical-Serbs were taking UN-Personal hostage and chaining them to Trees and poles using them as human shields!
Goes to show the great respect that
The Republic Of Kosova Has for the UN and international law!
The Republic Of Kosova is gaining more and more support from the international community with these events, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK FELLOW COUNTRYMAN!!!

UNMIK was informed in time with the police action. It is very surprising that UNMIK didnt inform Kosovo Police of its own workers presence in the specific area. I do not believe the said personnel were officialy in the area it is more to do with their own initiatives in trying to distirb the police work and gather information on the police action for Rusian office in Pristina. Every UN personnel is well aware of the what to do in such situation, they need to identify themselves and inform the authorities of their presence. It is very unprofessional the statement of UNMIK in this case. It shows that the statement has been released by an unprofessional person or personel involving the name of the SRSG.
