Journalist association criticizes Kosovo media law

An association of journalists in Kosovo and Metohija says said that a draft law on public service, now in procedure at the Kosovo assembly in Priština, was "unacceptable".

The Association of Journalists from Kosovo and Metohija (DNKiM) said in a statement that it was "initiator of establishment of new independent TV channel in Serbian which would with its signal cover whole Kosovo", but that the draft was "not in compliance with relevant international and local legal provisions".

“Serbia is going through a transitional period, striving to overcome the legacy of the violent past, and to enhance social cohesion.
