NIŠ -- Serbian Patriarch Irinej said on Tuesday that his enthronement in the Patriarchate of Peć, in Kosovo, will be held on April 25.

“The enthronement will be on April 25, and that will also mark the beginning of work of the Assembly of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The assembly will start there, and continue in Belgrade. That will be a chance for our guests to attend, and I hope they will see for themselves the situation in Kosovo,” Irinej told reporters in Niš, southern Serbia.
“Serbs in Kosovo suffer more than ever”
In an interview for the Frankfurt-based Serbian language daily Vesti, the patriarch said that “never in the history of Kosovo have the Serbs suffered like they do now”.
“In Croatia the centuries-old problems of the Serb people continue, and in Montenegro an unjustifiable division has occurred,” said Irinej.
“Unfortunately, with this new situation, Kosovo finds itself in the hardest position in its history. The Serbs who stayed in Kosovo have endured more pain, suffering and destruction than ever before,” said the Serbian Patriarch, pointing out that the “tragedy is that the great powers are aware of this but pretend not to see it”.
The patriarch told the newspaper that the division that occurred between Serbia and Montenegro is “senseless and unreasonable” because, as he said, the Serbs and the Montenegrins are one people with common roots.
Irinej said that he does not know if the Montenegrins will realize how “senseless and unreasonable” the division is, and that this probably depends on a few powerful people.
The door of the SPC is open to “our Macedonian brothers” and to “true contact, primarily through liturgy,” the patriarch said.
Noting that the problems with the Macedonian Church are now much graver than before, the Patriarch said that the door of the SPC is open for talks and that every problem can be solved as long as both sides are willing.
Speaking of the suffering of the Serb people in Croatia, the patriarch assessed that it is “unfortunately continuing”.
The head of SPC said that he believes that “the Republic of Srpska is led by intelligent people who will find the best path in these troubled times, both for our people and for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
He also expressed his wish that the head of the Roman Catholic Church visits Niš, because, according to him, the Edict of Milan involves the Church and Christianity as a whole, and therefore all Christian countries, history and culture.
The patriarch said he believed that Serbia will hold its central ceremony celebrating the anniversary of the Edict of Milan in 2013 in Niš, but he did not rule out the possibility that the town – the birthplace of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great – would also host the central ceremony for other European churches and countries.
“Pope Bendict XVI's visit to Niš is up to the Roman Catholic Church, but it would be welcomed by the SPC,” Irinej said.
Ptolome, you said:
"If you want to look at it from a strictly religious point of view, the territory that is Kosovo belongs to the Roman Catholic Church."
That is, from a strictly religious point of view, complete nonsense. With some minor exceptions (such as Vatican City) churches don't own countries at all. The Roman Catholic Church has a presence in Kosovo as you point out (and a Bishop to care for followers). Various branches of the Orthodox brotherhood, including the Serbian Orthodox Church, also have a presence (churches, priests, monks, bishops) in many countries (The United States; Great Britain; Brazil; etc.). Land does not belong to churches - only the souls of the believers, and there are still Orthodox faithful in Kosovo. A few of them are even Albanian speakers.

Is the new Leader of the Serbian Church Thinking that the Year is still 1990 , someone in Belgrade ought to tell him that now is 2010!! he should come to Kosova but first there are some rules. wich we all have to obay , actually i would like him to come all the way to the Border then he will say ooo since i cant go to Kosovo i'll just go and get on with it some were else , that would be a laugh , anyways now the Kosovo Serbs should think about the "ORTHODOX CHURCH OF KOSOVO" Perhaps Oliver Ivanovic would go for it , he likes to get whatever he is offerd
(Toni_London, 29 January 2010 02:22)
If you want to look at it from a strictly religious point of view, the territory that is Kosovo belongs to the Roman Catholic Church. And as someone mentioned it earlier, Christian Kosovo is represented by Bishop Dode Gjergji, an Albanian I might add.

Rados wrote: "Who cares what is you humble opinion? I suppose that is your bad attitude towards Orthodox church.
"At least there are many of us Serbs from Montenegro who Patriarch Irinej represents. Yes, from Kotor and Herceg Novi."
Rados,
I think you are right in all of your claims: No-one cares about my opinion. Yes, that's true. Yes, I have critical ("bad") attitude toward Serbian Orthodox Church (as well as toward Russian Orthodox Church, and Roman Catholic Church, and... well, the list is long).
There are many of you Serbs in Montenegro whom Patriarch Irinej represents. Yes, a big number. And especially in Herceg Novi.
And as much is true that your Bishop Amfilohije was one of the warlords in recent wars. Not directly commanding troops in headquarters or on the frontline but offering his support and propaganda. Still today Amfilohije and Bishop Vasilije form a platform for radical nationalist forces and continue harming the Orthodox Church (in case Amfilohije's and Vasilije's views and attitudes aren't in line with Orthodox religion; well, maybe they are...).
I wish I'm wrong about Patriarch Irinej and that we will see him practicing introspection and self-criticism concerning relation to radicals. If Patriarch Irinej takes a critical look at the activities of Orthodox leaders during the past wars I will 1) publicly admit having been wrong about him; 2) give myself a good whipping, in privacy but very humbly.
(Olli, 28 January 2010 23:44)
The Albanian reaction was predictable, considering their way-beyond-Milosevic historical animosities towards Serbia; with that in mind, the reaction could be justified if the Patriarch announced a visit to Tirana, However he wants to go to Kosovo, which is Serbian land, taken away ilegally, by force and with the misuse of the UN resolution.
(ned, 28 January 2010 06:54)
Personally, I am an atheist. The existence of a god seems very unlikely to me.
However, as the representative of a group the man has spoken well.
But..... the image of the orthodox church is tainted by association with people and events from the recent wars. Because of the church's over-emphasis on the Serbian aspect it is not trusted to represent peace in the world. If the man only represents Serbs and does not attempt to represent all the 'children of god' then he is a failure as a Christian. He has that duty too.
In my view this Patriarch must be seen to represent Serbia in different terms - inclusive, cooperative, peaceful. There are down-trodden people in all societies and he needs to keep that in mind when making pronouncements. Serbia has its issues - but so do others. He needs to demonstrate that he respects that.
(Bob, 28 January 2010 04:16)
What's this talk about of Patriarch Irinej not speaking politics?
Oh, people, don't make fools of yourself. God bless these diaspora Serbs to see things as they are.
Someone said Patriarch Irinej is the representative of Serbian people. Just don't tell me he is doing that in front of God...?
If he's something he is the Head of Serbian Orthodox Church. If we leave God out for now, Patriarch Irinej can be the religious representative of Orthodox Serbs, but that's it. He doesn't represent most of my family in Serbia 'cause they aren't members of the church. He doesn't represent any Serbian citizen who isn't a member of the Serbian Orthodox Church. A good question is does he represent Montenegrins? Most Montenegrins that I know don't give a damn about him. No matter how big Serbian flags are hanged to Kotor churches.
In my humble opinion Patriarch Irinej represents negative forces and backwood views.
(Olli, 27 January 2010 15:47)
ok, i re-read the article and i really don't understand the hysterical reactions of the albanian posters here. what exactly did he say that offends you? he is a leader of a church and he is talking on behalf of members of his church who happen to be victims of some serious crimes. you can ultimately blame it all on milosevic and serbian nationalism if you like, but if you are denying that serbs were victims in the conflicts of the 90's then it will be easy to spot the extremist and it won't be this guy, i'm afraid.
as for why he should be enthroned in kosovo, isn't the monastery in pec officially the seat of the serbian orthodox church? aren't you supposed to respect what kosovo means to serbs even if you want it to be independent?
i am not a fan of religious institutions, but i do not see in comments here anything about secularism.
(malcolm x, 27 January 2010 11:35)
We dont need him in Kosovo, there is already a church leader named Pope Benedict XVI, represent by Don Dode Gjergji, bishop of Kosovo.
(luis, 27 January 2010 09:39)
Alot of the albainians posters are whinging about religion versus politics debate and where it has crossed. The situtation crossed when the KLA was killing serbian children, burning and destroying churches, grave yards etc. Not to mention trying to steel Kosovo which belongs to the Serbian Othodox church. Don't believe have a look at the title deeds.
(snapper, 27 January 2010 04:26)
MILAN, my answer to the "removed" posting ended most likely making company to the one of yours, and I suspect these two were accompanied with many more of the similar quality.Anyway, at the closing of this day, after reading all hysterical, panicky, paranoid statements about imminent malicious threats to "Kosova" existence, coming from a simple presence of Serbian Patriarch in his church, it is more than ever obvious that this artificial, illegal creation called "Kosova" cannot and will not survive.
P.S. Thanks, Pietro.
(Logic, 27 January 2010 04:10)
# I am not sure why does this church man gets involved in politics. Seems to be a tradition now in Serbian affairs. It 100% legitimizes the aggresivity of K-Alb towards Serbian Orthodox church institutions in Kosovo.
This is a man of God, and should only be that, and not a hardcore nationalist, as if the region does not have enough. Serbia continues to play a dirty game involving church in the state affairs. They should not complain when the church becomes a target of regional conflicts. It is bringing it upon itself.
(Denis, 26 January 2010 20:09)
yes, denis. as i just wrote... i will go to great lengths to protec religious speech and practice. but when it is utterly entwined and in fact is essentially political, that's a whole other story.
The enthroning may not take place and if it does this is most likely going to be the last Serbian Orthodox Patriarch that will be enthroned at the Pec Patriarchate. Sooner or later the K-ALbs are going to have their way with the Pec Patriarchate, Decani and possibly even Gracanica.
(Milan Melbourne, 27 January 2010 02:27)
Literacy skills and intelligence are two things I would not associate with the xenophobic keyboard warriors posting comments to this site. I can not highlight one single quote from that article that points the finger at one particular ethnic group.
Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here’s Tom with the weather.
(Daveo Dinkum, 27 January 2010 01:48)
This is as much of a provocation as a Kosova Albanian Imam's inauguration would be if it were held in Presheva. No reason whatsoever since those same churches will be in Kosova even the day after he is inaugurated. He could go there the next day. There's plenty of Churches in Serbia. Hold your inauguration there and go down to Kosova whenever you feel like after that. The provocation stems from the fact that through this inauguration Serbia and the Serbian church want to turn this into a political event. Considering that Serbian Church is on equal footing with the executive branch of Serbia, this is a poor choice to say the least. Considering the hate doctrine spread by his predecessor and his provocations when it came to Kosova then skepticism is the least you can expect from the other side. Considering that the Serbian Church was instrumental in the spreading of hate against those of other faiths in Jugoslavia then a cold reaction is the least you can expect.
P.S Peggy the Serbs killed their prime minister because he was not radical enough.
(johny, 27 January 2010 01:39)
Can't believe this haters of serbian people saying that he is acting more like politicien then holy man
Let me remind you that most middle east countries laws are established and run by their holy book. They are also bringing their laws to Kosovo and Bosnia, but you are OK with that. Also, catolic church is heavily involved in politics-just remembre last pope and his political views.
So, it is only when serb's holy man protects his people that is so wrong. You hate for serbs is blinding your senses.
(L, 27 January 2010 01:31)
Not one Albanian on this site has said something positive about Irinej. There is nothing in his speech which resembles any form of hate and yet he is condemned and accused of provocation.
(Peggy, 26 January 2010 23:33)
The patriarch is only adding fuel to the fire by demonizing all the non-Serbs while magnifying the plight of the Serb people.
In Kosova, Bosnia, Croatia and the region as a whole all elasticities are suffering but yet he singles out only the Serb and implicitly is making Serbs out to be the victims of some worldwide conspiracy.
Forgive me but I am not used to such rhetoric from religious figures. Maybe that's because I grew up in Albania where the heads of the four religions went out of their way to reach out the those who don't belong to their congregations. That is not the case in Kosova or Serbia.
(Zoti, 27 January 2010 01:03)
All I see from this interview is Serb,Serbs,Serbs, victims, suffer, everyone hates us, bla, bla....
Surprisingly no change in sight still... one has to feel sorry for Serbia.. there is just no hope.
(Agim, 26 January 2010 14:55)
---…--
Agim, he represents Serbian people so naturally he will be talking about Serbian suffering.
How many of your imams talk about Serbian suffering? Would you guys even take it from them or would you beat them up like you beat up one of them the other day for not being radical enough?
Not one Albanian on this site has said something positive about Irinej. There is nothing in his speech which resembles any form of hate and yet he is condemned and accused of provocation.
Go on, point out anything he said which is hateful. I challenge you. On the other hand there is plenty of hate speech coming from you.
Why are you so threatened by this man?
Is the truth so hard for you to hear?
(Peggy, 26 January 2010 23:33)
# I swear to all mighty god that had I been a prime minister of Kosovo I wouldnt allow this clown to enter Kosovo.
Is this the best that Serbian church has to offer. A religious radical nut. Gimme me break for gods sake. No sympathy what so ever for this man.
(Xhafer, 26 January 2010 20:14)
===…==
I see no respect and no morals from some Albanians here again.
Is this how your mothers taught you? Calling a religious leader who has not done you any harm a nut?
Go on, keep telling us how tolerant and wonderful K-Albanians are and then show us examples like this.
Spewing venom is not a decent way. Why am I wasting my time? You guys have beaten up one of your own imams in Kosovo because he wasn't radical enough for you. What hope does a Serb have?
(Peggy, 26 January 2010 23:22)
Albians did you even read the article? what did he say that was wrong? you are threatening violence against the head of Serbian church?
Serbs in Kosovo are suffering worse than before, that is a fact, how is what he said wrong? where is he stirring trouble? where is did he say anything political?
(Red_Bandit, 26 January 2010 22:34)
It is quite obvious that most commentators did not read the article very carefully. The "emotional" responses are just another cheap way to curse all that is Serb. It is a clear sign of immaturity and lack of reading and analyzing skills. Whatever was said during the interview has absolutely nothing to do with politics. B92, what happened to my previous posting in which I responded to a very serious posting that just after I posted my comment was removed?
(Milan, 26 January 2010 21:51)
The Eastern Holy Roman Empire is still seated at where it began by King Constantine in Istanbul, Turkey. Whatever anyone says about the Ottoman empire and the successor state of Turkey, they always respected the rights of freedom of religion. That is why the Serbian Orthodox Church as well as the Bulgarian and Greek survived 500 years of occupation by Turkey.
The intolerance of some Albanian extremists illustrates the lack of freedom the Serbs face in Kosovo. Its no wonder Turkey never tolerated the Albanians in their own country resulting in many rebellions . The Albanians are intolerant of other nationalities, but equally have never been able to fight for their own freedom but always hide under the vail of Turkey or the USA.
In due time, the USA and Europe will soon be quelling a rebellion in Kosovo with it's own creation of the KPS and the Serb army will not come to the rescue.
(Jugoslavija, 26 January 2010 21:24)
nothing new under serbian sky:yesterday it was pavle who blessed tanks going in kosovo, today it's irinej! The only question is when serbs will be enough endoctrined and began the new war!

More of the same. What did you expect you guys, the man is 82 years old for crying out loud.
I guess his only regret is not becoming archbishop earlier in his life so he could bless the Serbian tanks rolling into Kosova.
(Zoti, 26 January 2010 20:07)
He is talking about how serbian people suffer around the balkans. He is a serbian church leader and has a right to talk about suffering of Serbs around. He never once said its at the hands of croats or bosnians or albanians. I think you guys are taking what he said the wrong way. And what makes Kosovo the Serbian holy land.. Well how about all the serbian blood spilled during the Turkish invasion of Europe.... If thats not a good enough reason then I dont know what is... He will be allowed to come to Kosovo watch. Eu needs Serbia as much as Serbia needs then and they will step in and allow it. Face the Facts Kosovo Albanians dont run Kosovo UN does...
(Mike.CA, 26 January 2010 19:48)
Ladies and Gentleman, this is what passes for moderation in Serbia today. He is blaming all other ethnic in the former Yugoslavia for the suffering of Serbs: Croatians are the Problem, so are the Bosnians, and yes Montenegrians and Macedonians falls in the same category, and who can forget Albanians. Incredible that they call this guy a moderate in Serbia. What does a Radical look like?
No different than speeches given by Hassan Nasarallah in Lebanon and Ahmedinejad in Tehran, but he is the SPIRITUAL representative of Serbia.
He just gave the Kosovo government a reason to prevent or severally restrict his "enthronement" in Pec.
Kosovo government should save his speech and pass it on to all all EU members. These kind of hatemongers are not allowed to enter U.S, why be allowed to come to Kosovo?
(BalkanUpdate, 26 January 2010 18:44)
Would you feel better if Thaci and co. received an invite? Not that it is goinig to happen, but this event just highlights the K albs are living in a fantasy world. The reality is there is no independent state of Kosov"a". This event is a means by wich the USA and EU are trying to gently bring you out of your "independence delerium". If this dosen't work, then get ready for stronger remedies to be administered by your masters.
(tim, 26 January 2010 18:43)
The Albanians on this site are funny...Is an old man in a robe such a threat, that you wished for nothing more than Golden bullets for this Bishop?
Where have you read any HATE in his speech? Perhaps the truth hurts?
Pec has been historically a very important place for the SOC, so live with it..It hasn't bothered you for the last 700 years, why should it bother you now?
After all, you should feel comforatable....You know, being a democracy, and potential EU member and all..>_
(Pijetro, 26 January 2010 18:21)
I would strongly support such a great event to take part in Kosovo, just as annual visitations to Gazimestan or even visitations on daily basis by any person to such great monuments or cultural and religious centers -for they would bring funds and jobs to Kosovo, allow anyone to exercise their faith and bring people together, BUT at some other day in a not so distant future. As it is right now, I consider it a great provocation, an unnecessary ceremony for a fragile state of affairs, a call to awake nationalistic and religious antagonist feelings that brought Kosovo to this point in first place.
I would place this manifestation right up there with the former prime minister's Sharon of Israel visitation to Jerusalem with a message from a provocative tongue. As peaceful as it may have seem because of bad timing and its message it turned into a semi war with innocent dead on both sides and a unlivable environment for all.
That is not denying Serbs access to their cultural and religious places but a call to save the fragile peace. If one is for peace then sacrifice is justified.
As thus, I doubt the event will happen in Kosovo.
(Mirub Jager, 26 January 2010 17:56)
Is the patriarch a politician or a priest? This is way too much political talk from the head of a church. Shouldn't there be separation between the two? Or this is acceptable as long as he "is protecting Serbs and Serbia" against everyone else?
I don't care where he gets enthroned, as long as he keeps his hate speech to himself. Portraying Serbs as the victims and everyone else as the aggressor doesn't really help. Where was the Serbian church when Millosevic's regime was destroying everything in the name of Serbia? And more specifically where was he? I don’t understand how Kosova came to be as “Serbia’s holy land.” Wasn’t the Serbian church founded in Raska? Shouldn’t that be Serbia’s holy land?

This is a direct and malicious threat to Kosova and it's people. If this guy trully believes that he come to Kosova and gets 'enthroned' by spewing such ignornat statements then maybe he should think of going elsewhere instead!

(Kujtim, 26 January 2010 16:07)
You are talking about Serbian Holy Land! Show some respect because he is coming and there is nothing uck terrorists can do about it!
(Ratko, 26 January 2010 15:28)

(Bekim, 26 January 2010 15:44)
Albians did you even read the article? what did he say that was wrong? you are threatening violence against the head of Serbian church?
Serbs in Kosovo are suffering worse than before, that is a fact, how is what he said wrong? where is he stirring trouble? where is did he say anything political?
(Red_Bandit, 26 January 2010 22:34)
You are talking about Serbian Holy Land! Show some respect because he is coming and there is nothing uck terrorists can do about it!
(Ratko, 26 January 2010 15:28)
Ratko.
I think that the freedom of movment is the most important think to have, and yes, I thing that he should be allowed to go to Kosovo with no problems, however the only problem I have is that religion should be about peace and love, he likes to call himself man of god but like most Slavic religions they like to mix in politics..
A shame really, because they have so much influence which they could use to help people make peace rather than promote hate and suffering.
(Agim, 26 January 2010 15:55)
More of the same. What did you expect you guys, the man is 82 years old for crying out loud.
I guess his only regret is not becoming archbishop earlier in his life so he could bless the Serbian tanks rolling into Kosova.
(Zoti, 26 January 2010 20:07)
It is quite obvious that most commentators did not read the article very carefully. The "emotional" responses are just another cheap way to curse all that is Serb. It is a clear sign of immaturity and lack of reading and analyzing skills. Whatever was said during the interview has absolutely nothing to do with politics. B92, what happened to my previous posting in which I responded to a very serious posting that just after I posted my comment was removed?
(Milan, 26 January 2010 21:51)
I swear to all mighty god that had I been a prime minister of Kosovo I wouldnt allow this clown to enter Kosovo.

(Xhafer, 26 January 2010 20:14)
Would you feel better if Thaci and co. received an invite? Not that it is goinig to happen, but this event just highlights the K albs are living in a fantasy world. The reality is there is no independent state of Kosov"a". This event is a means by wich the USA and EU are trying to gently bring you out of your "independence delerium". If this dosen't work, then get ready for stronger remedies to be administered by your masters.
(tim, 26 January 2010 18:43)
I am not sure why does this church man gets involved in politics.

I see no respect and no morals from some Albanians here again.
Is this how your mothers taught you? Calling a religious leader who has not done you any harm a nut?
Go on, keep telling us how tolerant and wonderful K-Albanians are and then show us examples like this.
Spewing venom is not a decent way. Why am I wasting my time? You guys have beaten up one of your own imams in Kosovo because he wasn't radical enough for you. What hope does a Serb have?
(Peggy, 26 January 2010 23:22)

ok, i re-read the article and i really don't understand the hysterical reactions of the albanian posters here. what exactly did he say that offends you? he is a leader of a church and he is talking on behalf of members of his church who happen to be victims of some serious crimes. you can ultimately blame it all on milosevic and serbian nationalism if you like, but if you are denying that serbs were victims in the conflicts of the 90's then it will be easy to spot the extremist and it won't be this guy, i'm afraid.
as for why he should be enthroned in kosovo, isn't the monastery in pec officially the seat of the serbian orthodox church? aren't you supposed to respect what kosovo means to serbs even if you want it to be independent?
i am not a fan of religious institutions, but i do not see in comments here anything about secularism.
(malcolm x, 27 January 2010 11:35)
Alot of the albainians posters are whinging about religion versus politics debate and where it has crossed. The situtation crossed when the KLA was killing serbian children, burning and destroying churches, grave yards etc. Not to mention trying to steel Kosovo which belongs to the Serbian Othodox church. Don't believe have a look at the title deeds.
(snapper, 27 January 2010 04:26)
We dont need him in Kosovo, there is already a church leader named Pope Benedict XVI, represent by Don Dode Gjergji, bishop of Kosovo.
(luis, 27 January 2010 09:39)
MILAN, my answer to the "removed" posting ended most likely making company to the one of yours, and I suspect these two were accompanied with many more of the similar quality.Anyway, at the closing of this day, after reading all hysterical, panicky, paranoid statements about imminent malicious threats to "Kosova" existence, coming from a simple presence of Serbian Patriarch in his church, it is more than ever obvious that this artificial, illegal creation called "Kosova" cannot and will not survive.
P.S. Thanks, Pietro.
(Logic, 27 January 2010 04:10)
The Albanian reaction was predictable, considering their way-beyond-Milosevic historical animosities towards Serbia; with that in mind, the reaction could be justified if the Patriarch announced a visit to Tirana, However he wants to go to Kosovo, which is Serbian land, taken away ilegally, by force and with the misuse of the UN resolution.
(ned, 28 January 2010 06:54)

yes, denis. as i just wrote... i will go to great lengths to protec religious speech and practice. but when it is utterly entwined and in fact is essentially political, that's a whole other story.
The enthroning may not take place and if it does this is most likely going to be the last Serbian Orthodox Patriarch that will be enthroned at the Pec Patriarchate. Sooner or later the K-ALbs are going to have their way with the Pec Patriarchate, Decani and possibly even Gracanica.
(Milan Melbourne, 27 January 2010 02:27)
If you want to look at it from a strictly religious point of view, the territory that is Kosovo belongs to the Roman Catholic Church. And as someone mentioned it earlier, Christian Kosovo is represented by Bishop Dode Gjergji, an Albanian I might add.
(Ptoleme, 29 January 2010 00:10)

Who is promoting pain and suffering? Point out where he does not speak the truth. He is a represetative of the Serbian people and he will naturally highlight our suffering and also expose the forces of division currently working against ua. He is promoting reconciliation and dialogue.
Sometimes, the truth hurts but that does not promote pain and suffering.
(Zoran, 26 January 2010 16:47)
Would you feel better if Thaci and co. received an invite? Not that it is goinig to happen, but this event just highlights the K albs are living in a fantasy world. The reality is there is no independent state of Kosov"a". This event is a means by wich the USA and EU are trying to gently bring you out of your "independence delerium". If this dosen't work, then get ready for stronger remedies to be administered by your masters.
(tim, 26 January 2010 18:43)
# I swear to all mighty god that had I been a prime minister of Kosovo I wouldnt allow this clown to enter Kosovo.
Is this the best that Serbian church has to offer. A religious radical nut. Gimme me break for gods sake. No sympathy what so ever for this man.
(Xhafer, 26 January 2010 20:14)
===…==
Albians did you even read the article? what did he say that was wrong? you are threatening violence against the head of Serbian church?
Serbs in Kosovo are suffering worse than before, that is a fact, how is what he said wrong? where is he stirring trouble? where is did he say anything political?
(Red_Bandit, 26 January 2010 22:34)
The enthroning may not take place and if it does this is most likely going to be the last Serbian Orthodox Patriarch that will be enthroned at the Pec Patriarchate. Sooner or later the K-ALbs are going to have their way with the Pec Patriarchate, Decani and possibly even Gracanica.
(Milan Melbourne, 27 January 2010 02:27)
It is quite obvious that most commentators did not read the article very carefully. The "emotional" responses are just another cheap way to curse all that is Serb. It is a clear sign of immaturity and lack of reading and analyzing skills. Whatever was said during the interview has absolutely nothing to do with politics. B92, what happened to my previous posting in which I responded to a very serious posting that just after I posted my comment was removed?
(Milan, 26 January 2010 21:51)
ok, i re-read the article and i really don't understand the hysterical reactions of the albanian posters here. what exactly did he say that offends you? he is a leader of a church and he is talking on behalf of members of his church who happen to be victims of some serious crimes. you can ultimately blame it all on milosevic and serbian nationalism if you like, but if you are denying that serbs were victims in the conflicts of the 90's then it will be easy to spot the extremist and it won't be this guy, i'm afraid.
as for why he should be enthroned in kosovo, isn't the monastery in pec officially the seat of the serbian orthodox church? aren't you supposed to respect what kosovo means to serbs even if you want it to be independent?
i am not a fan of religious institutions, but i do not see in comments here anything about secularism.

Alot of the albainians posters are whinging about religion versus politics debate and where it has crossed. The situtation crossed when the KLA was killing serbian children, burning and destroying churches, grave yards etc. Not to mention trying to steel Kosovo which belongs to the Serbian Othodox church. Don't believe have a look at the title deeds.
(snapper, 27 January 2010 04:26)
Can't believe this haters of serbian people saying that he is acting more like politicien then holy man
Let me remind you that most middle east countries laws are established and run by their holy book. They are also bringing their laws to Kosovo and Bosnia, but you are OK with that. Also, catolic church is heavily involved in politics-just remembre last pope and his political views.
So, it is only when serb's holy man protects his people that is so wrong. You hate for serbs is blinding your senses.
(L, 27 January 2010 01:31)
Literacy skills and intelligence are two things I would not associate with the xenophobic keyboard warriors posting comments to this site. I can not highlight one single quote from that article that points the finger at one particular ethnic group.
Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, that we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here’s Tom with the weather.

MILAN, my answer to the "removed" posting ended most likely making company to the one of yours, and I suspect these two were accompanied with many more of the similar quality.Anyway, at the closing of this day, after reading all hysterical, panicky, paranoid statements about imminent malicious threats to "Kosova" existence, coming from a simple presence of Serbian Patriarch in his church, it is more than ever obvious that this artificial, illegal creation called "Kosova" cannot and will not survive.
P.S. Thanks, Pietro.
(Logic, 27 January 2010 04:10)
(Webber, 30 January 2010 08:44)
If you want to look at it from a strictly religious point of view, the territory that is Kosovo belongs to the Roman Catholic Church. And as someone mentioned it earlier, Christian Kosovo is represented by Bishop Dode Gjergji, an Albanian I might add.
(Ptoleme, 29 January 2010 00:10)
