He called these jobs “vital investments without which Serbia cannot go further.”
Nikolić wondered how the technical government had the capacity to postpone the start of highway construction, but did not have the capacity to ratify the energy agreement.
He said that claims that the EU had not recognized Kosovo’s unilaterally declared independence were untrue.
“On behalf of who then did [EU High Representative] Javier Solana go to Priština, when Spain hasn’t recognized Kosovo independence?” asked Nikolić.
The SRS deputy leader also predicted that the EU would support the Democratic Party (DS) and, to an extent, the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in the upcoming campaign, though he added that Serbian citizens could only expect tangible help if the country renounced its sovereignty in Kosovo.
He condemned the dispute between President Boris Tadić (DS) and daily Politika over the publication of a story on the alleged estate of the late Belgrade Mayor Nenad Bogdanović, saying that if the president triumphed again at the elections, he would “start arresting journalists.”
Nikolić said that the SRS’s election campaign would be modest and would focus on outdoor rallies.
The SRS will launch its campaign in Gračanica on Saturday, before moving on to Subotica the next day.
The title is misleading, it states Nikolić criticized both DS and DSS. From the article itself its clear he has only criticized DS since DSS has been in support of ratification of both the highway contract and gas deal.
