Putin's message said that it was Russia's intention to "continue close cooperation with Serbia in the resolution of international and regional issues."
Pointing out that "mutually useful cooperation between the two countries has expanded in the past years," Putin said one characteristic of the Russo-Serbian relations was an "intensive political dialogue marked by a high degree of trust."
"The trade and economic ties are strengthening and this is best reflected in the signing, during your recent visit to Moscow, of bilateral energy sector documents, which have set the foundations for a strategic partnership," Putin's message was quoted by the presidential press service.
"We intend to continue close coordination of our approach to the resolution of current international and regional issues, starting from the need for consistent strengthening of the international and legal basis for contemporary world order, in the interests of overall stability and security," Putin concluded.
