The famous Serbian football player and coach Siniša Mihajlović was buried in Rome, after the funeral service in the Basilica of "Saint Mary, Angel and Martyr (Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri).
Thousands gathered outside to say goodbye to the celebrated ace, and among them were well-known faces.
His great friends Dejan Stanković and Roberto Mancini carried the coffin in the front rows, after which the car took him to the nearby cemetery where he was buried in the close family circle.
He was seen off with applause, a song and a performance with smoke bombs prepared by the most ardent fans of Lazio, the club where he became famous.
Just to reiterate that Mihajlovic died at the age of 54 after a long battle with leukemia.
Farewell to the legendary Serbian football player began on Sunday, when columns of Romans waited in front of the Roman municipality of Campidoglio to pay their respects to Mihajlovic.
