New Serbian government holds first session

The new government of Serbia held its first session on Monday in Belgrade, adopting a procedural decision to withdraw bills sent by the previous cabinet.

The ministers also adopted a conclusion to hold future regular government sessions on Thursdays at 13:00 CET.

They also ascertained that mandates of state secretaries in the ministries had expired.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Kori Udovički was late for the session, which started at 10:00 CET, and was rebuked by Prime Minister Aleksadar Vučić.

Udovički earlier in the day spoke for the RTS to say she will also be in charge of the newly established Secretariat for Public Policy, which coordinates the work of state bodies.

Finance Minister Lazar Krstić spoke for TV Pink to announce that by the beginning of July "the solidarity tax" would be abolished.

The new government was elected in parliament on Sunday and has 19 members.

Prime Minister Vučić delivered his expose to single out "three key tasks othef cabinet": reforms of the economy that includes adoption of reform laws, private sector development, and consolidation of the budget by reducing costs.

URS continues to operate as political party

The Presidency Collegium of the United Regions of Serbia (URS) decided on Tuesday the URS would continue to function as a political party.
