Although "shunned by world leaders and put under sanctions for Russia's role in the 2014 standoff in Ukraine," said the agency, "Putin was still able to impose himself on this year's most pressing problems, returning to the diplomatic centre stage over the Syrian conflict."
The top ten list also includes "Parisians," Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Aung San Suu Kyi, Donald Trump, "Alexis Tsipras and Yanis Varoufakis," and FIFA's Sepp Blatter.
U.S. President Barack Obama did not make it to AFP's list of the year's most influential figures, but the country's secretary of state, John Kerry, shares the number ten spot with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif.

you are just a dumb, blind idiot who deserves to live in a dictatorship, not being able to say what he wants to say, not being able to live the live a free person wants to live, enjoys being brainwashed on a daily basis, trown in prison if you do something the ruling dicator doesn't like, feeds himself on propaganda and hate published in state controlled media ... etc, etc ...

Very amusing. You have used every cliché possible, dictatorship, freedom, propaganda, state controlled etc.
Sadly, you would not know what freedom was if it bit you on your backside. My point was to show the misinformation spread through spin.

"shunned by world leaders and put under sanctions for Russia's role in the 2014 standoff in Ukraine,"
Who has shunned Putin? Well its the west, but they do not constitute the world. Sanctions? What are these sanctions which allegedly are hurting Russia, and despite them Russia continues to advance.
BS has very short legs while the truth is heard far and wide.
