  1. Marco Amsterdam: "If Malta recognizes Kosovo, it should also recognize South Ossetia as an independent state...."

Might as well. Kosovo is not going back to Serbia and South Ossetia is not going back to Georgia, just like Malta is not going back to the British Empire, Serbia is not going back to the Ottoman Empire.... Life goes on!

  4. Everyday we are reading that some country out of the blue has recognized Kosova not a country de-recognizing. Time is on the Kosovars side.
As far as the importance, Malta got its' own article : ).

  6. Goran, why are you playing down Malta's importance?

Most of the famous countries have recognized and the few that are left have made their anti-independence stances known.

Now it's the uncommitted secondary cuntries that get to have their say.

  8. @ Slav -

I have no idea how much the governments of Muslim countries like or resent the US, but they all have substantial numbers of their citizens living and working in the States. These people would like certain things from the US government: no racial profiling at airports, clearing up green-card problems, etc. Helping out here is a win-win situation for everybody: the Arabs living in the US have their problems resolved, their government gains credit with its public, and the US can maybe get some diplomatic support for Kosovo.

  10. What does this recognition really do? The recognition process has already reached its peak so the United States has pressured a few last minute recognitions before the ICJ court ruling.

As for Sandzak.. the Muslims there fight amongst each other.. not with Serbs so I don't get the Albanian logic there.. but neither did 146 countries in the UN.

Vojvodina?? I was just there 2 1/2 weeks ago.. what independence seriously?? With 65% Serbs.. and the rest are a diverse minority who have no problem with Serbian rule. The main Hungarian party is in the Serbian government, Slovaks are great friends with Serbs and the rest of the demographics that make up Vojvodina are Romanians, "Yugoslavs", "Montenegrins" and what not.. independence? Well if you don't believe me.. take a look for your self.

  12. all of you dreaming about 'peace-loving nations' should have a look at the 'peace' brought by your nations to the middle east. i'm sure those middle eastern nations are just lining up to recognize kosovo because they just love the 'peace-loving nations' standing behind kosovo, even though those 'peace-loving nations' just happen to be occupying them at the moment.

  13. Shame then Dan that the largest European Country by population and area supports Serbia and not the Kosovo Albanians.

Picu-mania, Sandžak is a geographical region and not a political entity and there are no political parties in Vojvodina advocating its independence. A false argument if ever I saw one.

Still less than a quarter of the UN members have recognised Kosovo which is much less than was predicted.

  14. I am getting cunfused now.
One country is recognising Kosovo, the other is openning the embassy in Prishtina, the other country is recognising the Kosovo passports, as a warm-up for recongnition, while others one by one announce Kosovo passport recognition.

Is this to be contributed to Mr. Jeremic's successful diplomacy?

Jeremic should be pro-active and see how can he 'keep' Vojvodina, Sanjak and Presevo valley, and NOT bother anymore with a lost cause.

  17. Well Done MALTA!

Show the world that you are a peace-loving nation.

Rest assure that you wont be the last one, as the queue is pretty long now.

The new recognitions are about to follow in a matter of days, NOT WEEKS.

    Thank you USA,
    Thank you EU,

    Follow the leaders!

  18. This is a very good mesage for Mr. Jeremic who knows better then anybody else in this planet that never ever happened that 46 countries or even one ever reversed their decidion when they recognised any country. So this shows how serbian people are still manipulated by their own polititions because they continue giving them a falce hope and they continue to hope. You think that 46 sovereighn and super poewr countries of the world will listen Mr. jeremic. The only people Mr. Jeremic can lay are serbian people nobody else in this planet doesn't buy his lays.

And there is another wave of M-coutrise, muslim countries that will follow the same path. Just wait and see. Right now I am just thinking of magic letter M (magic!)This is amazing. Thank you Malta.Kosovo is independet for ever.

  21. one more in the list of freedom loving Nations...

I guess this is the ANSWER to the Serbian diplomatic success ;)

In hope you will appreciate an extract:

“Two lines of the Castriota Skanderbeg family live onwards in Southern Italy one of which descends from Pardo and the other from Achille, both being natural sons of Duke Ferrante, son of John [Gjon] and Skanderbeg’s nephew. They are part of the Italian nobility and members of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta with the highest rank of nobility. The only legitimate daughter of Duke Ferrante, Erina, born from Adriana Acquaviva, inherited the paternal estate, bringing the Duchy of Galatina and County of Soleto into the Sanseverino family after her marriage with Prince Pietrantonio Sanseverino”.
