“I think they cannot give a positive report of the implementation of UN resolution 1244,” Rašković-Ivić said.
“That is why we believe it is necessary to continue talks, since we have witnessed that introducing the status issue only aggravates the implementation of standards,” she argued.
Rašković-Ivić said a new round of negotiation would likely commence this fall, as the UN Security Council is expected to discuss the mission’s report in May.
“Ahead of fresh talks, the Council should appoint new international envoy in lieu of Martti Ahtisaari,” Rašković-Ivić concluded.
“Belgrade creates disagreement”
Serb List for Kosovo official Ranđel Nojkić said that a bone of contention among Serbs in Kosovo originated from Belgrade and its official position regarding Kosovo.
“After talking to the UN ambassadors, I gained an impression that Ahtisaari’s plan may be altered in its portion that outlines the protection of Kosovo Serbs and their rights.”
Nojkić, however, said he did not expect for it to happen, since Serbia, its negotiating team, the Government and Parliament discarded Ahtisaari’s plan in its entirety, deeming it unacceptable.
In his opinion, the UN mission’s visit could only serve as a courteous gesture from the international community, without any genuine impact on the UN envoy’s plan.
What "realistic" means for Sandra? She has to be civilised enough and have the guts to accept the verdict of the majority of UN Security Council members and concluding "realistic" what only she and her Russian friends think. She tried her best to manipulate the Council during the informing regular session in the Security Concil. Now she knows that her delaying and misleading tactics is coming to an end after the ambassadors findings in Kosova. There are issues with the Serb minority in Kosova but the bigest problem is the Serbian government not letting them to join the Kosova institutions and manipulating them. Soon Sandra and her brother-in arms will learn to live up with the new reality of an independent Kosova.

EA - lets just see if the majority of the UN SC do in fact agree that 1244 needs to be properly implemented - which is very much now the likely outcome!!!
Finally we can then have real negotiations when the standards are implemented!!!

Ahtisari's plan is actually the best solution for serbs. It is a loss for albanians. In fact, it favors serbs position in the state of Kosovo. If serbian goverment achieves to stop Ahtisaris plan both sides will lose. However, serbs would never be able to get the same rights under any other plan unless Serbia intevenes militarily, defeats NATO forces and the UN recognizes the north of Mitrovica as part of Serbia. How likely is this sequence to happen? This will open up the door for the Presevo, and Bujanovac to declare itself part of Kosovo and a new frontier would open up. What might happen when all these unlikely scenarios are over that there is a posibility of Serbia and Kosovo to exchange territories in an attempt to resolve the issue. This way Serbia will never be able to gain any more than that which the plan offers. We all know what a sensless war does to economy and image in the world. We can no longer hide our identities behind the mask of yugoslavia but everybody would have to account for their crimes.

B.R., are you joking? You must be, because Ahtisari's plan offers the Serbs nothing that isn't already guaranteed by U.N. Resolution 1244. In fact Ahtisari's plan offers the Serbs much less as it seeks to undermine Serbia's soveirty over Kosovo, and steal it's land. Furthermore, UNSC 1244 specifically stipulates the return of Serb security forces to protect Serb Churches and Monuments.
Serbia is absolutely right to reject Ahtisari's plan, and insist on the full implementation of UNSC 1244, which stipulates that Kosovo
is part of Serbia.

My Dear Princip if UN resolution was properly implemeted Kosovo/a should have gained independence sometime between 2002-2003, according to the will of the people of Kosovo/a. Serbia until now did not recognized the said resolution and all of sudden they are asking for the same resolution to be fully implemented before any final talks. God help sebia with the likes of Kostunica and his crownies along with their extrimist priests and paramilitary voluntiers that are gearing up to stage an attack to take over Kosovo/a. Wow what a scenario!!!!!
(M.Miller, 30 April 2007 20:12)
Yes B.R., senseless wars like Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, War on Terror. How can the US assume the HIGH GROUND in Serbia when the WAR ON TERROR is a farce! The Serbs conducted a WAR ON TERROR against terrorists in Bosnia and Kosovo & the US bombs them. The US invades & occupies sovereign countries in the name of this war, committed countless atrocities, bases the war on complete lies, yet that's ALL GOOD. Yet the Serbs never invaded anyone, & the US is still HELL BENT on creating another fanatical Islamic country so more terrorists can plot the destruction of the GREAT SATAN. No contradiction there, hey? Everyone should be held accountable for their crimes, except the USA, right B.R.?

After the recent tour of the UNSC team to Prishtina Russia says that 110 "standards" have not been implemented fully yet and that the Ahtisaari's plan is not being based upon a compromise, and therefore should not be accepted.

M.Miller are you still listening to those fairy tales there are telling you in Kosovo. If 1244 was implemented there would not be an independent Kosovo. The deal was to remove forces from Kosovo and bring peace to the region it was nothing said about independence.
