"Serbia paid 700mn of Kosovo's debt - and we'll pay more"
In the past twenty years, Serbia has paid about 700 million euros of Kosovo's debt and will continue to do so, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said on Tuesday.

What a ridiculous statement. According to your logic all loans taken out by the former Yugoslavia belong to Belgrade so Belgrade has to pay the entire debt? No, that is why those debts were apportioned to all former republics of Yugoslavia.
The only reason that has not happened in Kosovo is because Serbia does not recognise Kosovo’s separation and thus continues to repay its debt. However, if it were to recognise Kosovo then you have to repay Serbia with interest on the money they paid out – that is how it works. There is no such a thing as a free lunch mate.
I work in finance, not in this area, but the bank I work for gives loans to countries and I have colleagues who administer these loans. Nothing is lost. You have read EU has cancelled a debt to Greece? – well the bank still gets paid by Brussels and the taxpayer foots the bill.
That’s why I say it’s a win-win for Belgrade; if Belgrade recognises Kosovo then Kosovo has to repay it for their portion of loans that Yugoslvaia borrowed. If say there is a carve up of Kosovo then only the portions leaving Serbia will have a debt to repay.
Pristina will have such a huge debt to repay when you take into account interest you people will have NOTHING to sell because everything will belong to Belgrade to cover your portion of the loan.
Its how finance works everywhere except amongst the Albos LOL. Stick to trying to prove Albos were in the Balkans before the dinosaurs.

It matters not what you think or believe, if you owe money you have to pay it back with interest. Kosovo has very little to exploit mate so as it was a financial burden to Yugoslvaia so is the same to the EU. Kosovo’s institutions would not exist without EU aid.
In the world of finance no one cares what you feel or think as long as you meet your obligations. This is a win win scenario for Serbia and if it recognises Kosovo you have to repay, but as it stands Belgrade not only owns certain assets in Kosovo due to the debt it will soon own what Albos hold and in the end you guys will have nothing to privatise.
By the time we finish with your Albos they would have repaid Belgrade 100 times over for every bullet and shell that was expended.

No offence but during Serbian rule, Kosovo was a ghetto with dirt roads. Kosovo has been investing billions in infrastructure and highways. We are paying that debt. Dacic is talking about pocket change of a very long time ago. Hell, the country was even bombed to the ground in 99. The least they can do is settle the old Yugo debts that were (Discriminatorly) assigned in the past century. But if you really want you can take over the current debt of 2.5 billion as well?
