The poll, conducted by the Institute for European Affairs NGO, also showed that 62 percent of citizens would not accept NATO's apology for the 1999 aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SRJ). A majority of them are Belgraders and residents of the Western Serbia and Sumadija regions, between 30 and 44 years of age.
One third of respondents would accept an apology, while seven percent are undecided.
At the same time, about ten percent support NATO membership, while six percent are undecided.
Asked about "the reasons for the aggression," 17 percent said "(President) Slobodan Milosevic's policy," 15.2 percent said "interests and political reasons of the US and the West," and 12.6 percent said it was "to ethnically cleanse Serbs from Kosovo. "
About two thirds of citizens oppose any kind of cooperation between Serbia and NATO, while 26 percent of respondents, mostly highly educated, support it.
The poll was carried out March 16-20, with participation of 1,203 respondents from across Serbia, with the exception of Kosovo.

So, not only is Croatia better than Serbia as far as unemployment goes, but Croatia is also improving faster than Serbia.
(icj1, 25 March 2018 17:27)
Yes, Croatia is moving faster than Serbia, but what I don’t understand is why have 260,000 Croats left Croatia in the last 3 years, especially since only in January 2018 it was mentioned in the Croat parliament that the minimum wage was KN131,500 or Є17,424 per year?
I cannot understand why under such excellent conditions they estimate that a further 50,000, mostly young and well qualified, are leaving in 2018? Surely the estimated 60,000 who will lose their jobs in 2018 due to shut downs will find plenty of those minimum paid jobs?

LOL! Statistics have been used for centuries Mr Rice for the exact purpose of measuring "moods" without the need to ask everyone. If you don't know that, you are beyond being enlightened. Sure they can be rigged but the support towards NATO in Serbia has consistently been low, for all polls taken so far. You belong in the same boat as icj1, or maybe you are the same person. Croatia’s problem is not having enough employees in the locations where they are needed.
Many from the Slavonia region have found better paying jobs in other countries which is forcing employers in Croatia to raise wages and import workers.
There was an article just a few days ago which stated employers are going to the Ukraine for seasonal workers.

You are correct Lenard, Croatians can't afford to go anywhere else. Serbia is cheap and Serbs can afford to travel. I see them all over Europe. Croatians are nowhere to be seen, except Serbia. It's a great place to visit and relatively safe too.

Speaking about ignorance Mr Rice, I would suggest reading statistics for dummies. The mood towards NATO is well known in Serbia, no need to ask every single person.
(Zoran, 25 March 2018 17:10)
Dear Zoran,
Can you enlighten us less fortunate and less versed in work with a moodometer, how did you manage to measure the 'well known mood of Serbians towards NATO' without a need to ask every single Serbian about it?!!! Is it because you say so?
A tipical example of ignorance. You better hold firmly Statistics for Dummies.

Same nonsense mentality.
(Zoran, 26 March 2018 11:55)
Don't flatter yourself. Nobody is recruiting any of you nor would we want you in an ALLIANCE, except for maybe Slovenia!!!

... In the last 5 years how many industries have opened facilities in Croatia? Was it Continental, Siemens, Mei Ta, auto parts manufacturer or perhaps Schneider Electrics? No not one, but they all opened in Serbia.
Yep when you do the maths Croatia is leading in leaps and bounds, and the tooth fairy will leave you a dollar under your pillow tonight.
(sj, 27 March 2018 12:20)
My dearest almost favourite nearly friend sj,
You seem to have a wonderful time, again and again, investing German money in Serbia!
I am feeling rather jealous why you are not sharing the tooth fairy with all of us. We would aldo like to invest some German money in Serbia too. Don't be so selfish!
Before I forget, how's your 230 years old family doing in Australia?
Hope you live as long as them. You know how much German money you can invest in Serbia for that time?!! Nudge nudge.
(Tom L'Orizi, 27 March 2018 19:46)
You need a job to visit Serbia and Croatian's have a very high unemployment problem that us getting worse .
(Sasa from near Jagodina, 25 March 2018 01:49)
Unemployment rate in 2017:
Serbia 14.4%
Croatia 11.5%
Reduction in unemployment rate in 2017 compared to 2016:
Serbia 0.9%
Croatia 1.6%
So, not only is Croatia better than Serbia as far as unemployment goes, but Croatia is also improving faster than Serbia.
(icj1, 25 March 2018 17:27)
The article also gives no explanation as to how the sample was chosen.
(Tom L'Orizi, 24 March 2018 20:37) #
It was a poll conducted across Serbia, if you want more detail why don't you contact B-92. The fact of the matter is that you portray to understand statistics and polls more than B-92 , an actual news station. The reality is the only think you know about statistics is the number of hairs up your arse.

I really thought you might be a challenge, but you’re not one sandwich short of a picnic basket but the basket is completely empty. Very sad indeed.
You can’t debate so you resort to this drivel LOL. Good one icj1. Only you could come up with this type of irrational nonsense.

In the last 5 years how many industries have opened facilities in Croatia? Was it Continental, Siemens, Mei Ta, auto parts manufacturer or perhaps Schneider Electrics? No not one, but they all opened in Serbia.

It is nice to see many of you not being embarrassed to publicly oppose it.

===…==
Just because someone is highly educated doesn't mean they have common sense. There are many book smart people out there who can't organize their lives.
We have a section in our university here which is only for the highly gifted students. A while go they were looking to employ someone whose job would be to organize these students, help them keep a timetable of just ordinary chores that the rest of us mere mortals wouldn't have any problems in organizing ourselves and keeping to. Simple things like making sure they don't forget their laptops to a lecture.
These people know books, not real life.

We have Croatian's living in Serbia , but visiting, not many . You need a job to visit Serbia and Croatian's have a very high unemployment problem that us getting worse .
