According to Vecernje Novosti, Vesic mmediately told the hosts that this picture was taken in Maribor - a town on Slovenia - and that it was taken "after the Germans expelled the Slovenians."
"The only other place (in Yugoslavia) where the Nazis were welcomed was Zagreb (Croatia's capital), while Belgrade (Serbia's capital) was in ruins, and they entered it as the enemy," Vesic said, referring to the start of the German occupation in 1941.
According to the newspaper, the hosts said they would replace the photograph - and also asked Vesic to "officially" send them images of the destruction caused to Belgrade by the Nazis.
As usual, many are off the topic and just enjoy spreading hate. I doubt these same people ever heard of Yad Vashem. This is precisely why much of Serbia cannot prosper. From monarchy to dictatorship then corrupt government that cannot decide who they hate more. How about loving your own people and history and going from there forward? Just an idea.

Ok, and where is the error?! Maribor was in Yugoslavia at the time... This Vesic appears to be pretty ignorant about Yugoslavia's history and geography!
I’ve realized most people such as yourselves don’t really read the whole article, or maybe the words are too big and you just don’t understand. I really have to say, YOU are full of hate. The kind of hate that consumes a person. Besides being a full on serbophobe, you’ve continuously demonstrated you willingness to jam your feet in your mouth and embarrass yourself. if this is all you have in life, you definitely failed yourself..

So which part of 'EUROPE'S CAPITALS' don't you lads understand?
The bloke said rightly so: Belgrade DID NOT welcome the Nazis, some Yugoslavian backwaters in Slovenia and Croatia did.
WRONG CAPTION that's all. Correct it, thanks and goodbye. And I'm sure they will.
So what's your problem you lot. Have a Mariborian or a Zagrebian grandma do you hidden in your CV someplace.

This is a terrible error by Yad Vashem. They should know better. The Serbian experts on the position, sacrifice and destruction of Serbs, need to visit again and demand the record is corrected and expounded upon. As an individual and with other Serbs, Jews and our allies, we did just that years ago. Like the Jews, the Serbs must never forget. But it is fundamental that Serb scholars and activists, continue their work. Do not expect others to do so.
