The Roman Catholic Church and all Christian churches that use the Gregorian calendar are today celebrating Christmas, the feast of the birth of Jesus Christs.

I am surprised to see the kind of hatred that some comments here generate against catholics.As a dutch catholic i can say surely say that modern western and christian identity exists only due to the catholic church this is a point beyond dispute,as for the Russians and my fellow eastern christian friends ,i can only say that Putin has no real Love for you,he is a geo political leader who wants russia to dominate and trample over western democracies.Patriarch krill ,only seems fit to play second fiddle to Putin and on the whole acts like a misogynistic oligarch who has no intelligence nor the decency to listen to other christian.

Soon Rote will claim that Abraham's mother was born in Kamchatka and Xenu first touched down in Novosibirsk , therefore we must all surrender our will to Putin who should be considered the true leader of all religions because they came from Russia. He has already claimed that Russian Orthodoxy is the leader of all the other churches, then Mohammed was a Russian, now its Jesus.

Actually Coptics are the closest to the way Jesus preached.
Orthodox which is very close to Copic next and Catholics are not close at all. Jesus said no idols and not to worship anyone else but God and him and Catholics have statues in their church and pray to Mary.
Maybe you should learn more about Jesus and his teachings before you endorse anything.
