its the Bulgarian speaking Slavs of FYROM that should be speaking Albanian not the other way around. In 2001 they with the Turks and the Vlachs constituted 35% of the population. Turkish & Albanian birthrate is twice that of the Slavs of FYROM. I will guarantee you that if they were to conduct a census right now the minority groups would be a majority. The Slavs are too obsessed with stealing other nations history than making love and having babies. Its a petition on racial grounds. Gruevski's fantasy land and cultural engineering are to blame. The plea of "me no slav bloody" that's becoming louder and louder amoung the uneducated farm animals of Bitola and the revolting diaspora communities have caused FYROMS destruction. Never say a bad word about Albanians. Milosovic lost Kosovo for the Serbs through his ultra nationalist rhetoric. Gruevski and Ivanov are about to lose FYROM for the Slavs via their Antiquization propaganda. Georgievski in 2001 shat himself with the might of a handful of dissidents. If the Kosovo thugs get pissed off with the VMRO they will not only lose the majority of FYROM but they will also destroy those fake statues that constitute Skopje 2014. Think twice Slavic Macedonians before upsetting another Albanian and erecting another false statue of antiquity.

I believe it is, and that would explain the locale differences we can see in the slav speakers in the Balkans, i.e. Bulgarians are darker then the Macedonians, the Macedonians look different compared to Serbs, and the Montenegrin are a lot taller then serbs. All this can be attributed to the slavic settlers absorbing and assimilating the locale population. So when you talk about antiquity you are way off the mark.

I read some comments about the % of Albanians in Macedonia. Some said 15 or 20%. I mean opinions are opinions but the fact is the number is 25%, I looked it up. My father is Bulgarian and tells me all the time Albanians are roughly 30% of Macedonia and so I knew someone was wrong so I looked it up. The trend has been that Albanian population has been going up though and the last census was in 2002.

Nobody knows what happened to the old Slavic tribe of the Illyrians and where they've got assimilated and nobody on the Balkans has an ancient history of their own. Simply because there are no reliable documents available - nowhere ! The only history Balkan peoples can talk about are the histories of the Rus and of the Ottomans that before 17 century was ONE HISTORY. And of course there's almost zero information about the peoples that lived on the Balkans before the Slavic invasion of 1318. Most likely those were some Semite and Slavic folks and they were assimilated by the Slavs. Shqiptars are a rather new ethnos formed in 19 century but most likely they arrived here withing the Slavic hordes of 4-6 centuries = 14-16 of Scaliger-Petavius. Hordes and their military commanders used to give names to the future peoples of the Balkans. Sometimes hordes were called after geographical places. Guess it was in Montenegro case. So do not even try to find any special history of the Montenegrins.

As a Montenegrin I take offence to all these Albanians in this comment section claiming to be decadence of ancient Illyrians. Everyone knows that Montenegrin are the true Illyrians, look at any map and you will see that Montenegro and Dalmatia was the geographical heartland of Illyria not Albania or Kosovo. First you steal Kosovo from Serbia, and now you are trying to steal ancient Montenegrin history?
Look at the facts, Montenegrin’s and Southern Dalmatia area the tallest people in the region (by far) while you Albanians are short (like southern Italians) which is were you probably originated.

The funny thing is Albanians from ex Yugoslavia want one big unified country however us in mainland Albania want the opposite, our goals are EU membership and economic prosperity. Apart from our crooked politicians the general public do not what unity becaus the kosovans would soon outnumber us and then impose their extremism on to us and I for one do not want that to happen. They have more love for turkey than Albania proper let them join Erdogans new Empire Albania Is better like this. We've made great progress in developing a new relationship with our neighbors. If there was a referendum tomorrow the majority would oppose unity, as there's been far too much separation between us and our way of thinking has been shaped differently.

This is fake news. No other media in Macedonia reported such thing.
As per Albanians in Macedonia, according to 2002 census, they represent more than 20% of population in Macedonia. However, considering several very important key facts, like birthrate percentage (for Macedonians and Albanians in MK) as well the increased percentage of Macedonians who in the meantime obtained Bulgarian passports and declared them self as Bulgarians (especially after Bulgarian EU membership), the percentage of Albanians and Macedonians in Macedonia is radically changed. In absence of official number I will not speculate with percentages for ones ore others however, two years ago Macedonian government started new registration of population in MK, unfortunately proces was not completed (canceled almost in the end of proces). Rumors are saying that according to this (not completed) census Albanians in Macedonia with more than 30% became number one nation even before Macedonians, Turks are the third nation etc.

The truth is the Albanians have the same DNA as the other groups in the Balkans, that is including the Slav speaking groups and the Turks. The Slavs have DNA relating to the ancient people of the Balkans and so on.
The theory that out of all the ancient Balkan people that disappeared only the Illyrian people somehow miraculously survived and morphed into today's Albanians is absolutely absurd. No continuum whatsoever recorded in History of these people.
