The police intervened and filed 10 reports to the competent prosecutor's office, he added.

During the same period, 66 threats against the LGBT community were made over social networks, he said.

“The police intervened, measures have been taken against 25 persons and 45 criminal charges were pressed,” Stefanovic said in the Serbian parliament at the presentation of the report on condition of human rights of the LGBT persons.

“The police will not allow any minority, socially vulnerable group or citizen to feel unsafe in Serbia, instead we will abide by the law and all guaranteed rights,” he said.

Stefanovic noted that the Ministry adopted an action plan in February 2014 for promotion of operation and cooperation between the police and the LGBT community, which envisages the fight against hooliganism and extremism.
