Serbian Army preparing for Belgrade Liberation Day/VIDEO

The Serbian Army (VS) awaits the October 20 celebration of the WW2 Belgrade Liberation Day prepared, says Colonel Mihajlo Zogovic.

In a statement for Sputnik, carried on Monday by Beta, Zogovic invited citizens to come to Belgrade's municipality of Batajnica and together with their army celebrate this important historic day.

During the program, dubbed Freedom 2017, state-of-the-art equipment and training of VS soldiers will be shown.

A total of 2,200 members of the army, 130 different vehicles and 30 planes and helicopters are planned to participate.

Sputnik assessed that the most attractive parts of the celebration will be airplanes, various demonstration exercises, including hostage crisis simulations, as well as the so-called "super soldiers" with state-of-the-art equipment and weapons.

The participation of Russia's acrobatic air team Strizhi has also been confirmed, the report said.
