Two opposition members of the Serbian National Assembly have asked for a group of protesters to be allowed to attend Tuesday's session from the balcony.

But Assembly President Maja Gojkovic denied this request filed by deputies Zoran Zivkovic and Marinika Tepic (NS).

Zivkovic said that he would continue to submit the same request in the future, but repeated that he would not not bring the demonstrators to the Assembly building "by force."

Zivkovic and Tepic registered 47 demonstrators as their guests in a bid to allow them to attend the sitting from the gallery.

They believe this was an opportunity for the Assembly to demonstrate openness after, as the opposition claims, guests were prevented from entering parliament late last week.
