Mali told the Belgrade-based daily Alo that he is "proud of everything" that has been done and of the Serbian capital becoming "a big construction site" during his term in office.

Speaking on the third anniversary of taking office, Mali said that, "given his experience and knowledge" he was likely to return to private business.

However, Mali left open the possibility of "helping Belgrade, projects in the city, as well as the government and the new president, if need be."

"I wish to thank Aleksandar Vucic as well on this occasion, my friend and the prime minister, on the trust he showed me, and I want to thank all my fellow citizens for all the nice and less nice moments we've spent together solving various problems. I am proud of everything we have done," said Mali.
