G17 Plus parliament group head Suzana Grubješić has said that she is confident agreement will be reached with the biggest opposition party, the Serb Radicals (SRS), before the ongoing session continues on September 2

"Resorting to penal measures against opposition MPs would be the last thing to do, and it is also possible to change the rules of procedure," she said in a statement for the Belgrade daily Večernje Novosti published on Tuesday.

The energy agreement with Russia will be ratified in parliament and G17 Plus MPs will vote in favor of its ratification, Grubješić was adamant.

The opposition has previously managed to effectively obstruct parliament exploiting breaches in the rules of procedure.
