The amendment will seek impact the halted privatization of the local media.

Marković told Beta news agency that the status of the media in the languages of the ethnic minorities must be different from other solutions, especially from the solution found by the Law on the Capital City of Belgrade which enables the founding of a regional public service.

"The privatization of the media in the languages of the minorities had to be stopped due to a curtailing of the minorities' rights," contrary to the constitution, Marković explained.

According to him, this problem was spotted over a year ago, but no one "had the intention to resolve it".
