"The UN Security Council has begun drafting an appropriate resolution for Kosovo and right now, we are having talks with the Security Council member countries about the way in which the resolution will be formulated," Polt told Tanjug Wednesday.

Polt expressed belief that the UN Security Council resolution on Kosovo would open the door to Kosovo's "supervised independence," as well as that the document would be adopted late this spring or early in summer, the Serbian Foreign Ministry said on its website.

Polt did not rule out “the possibility of surprise in the adoption of the resolution," pointing out, however, that the United States was cooperating with its partners in the Contact Group, with the permanent and non-permanent members of the Security Council so that the issue of Kosovo could be resolved “as soon as possible”.

“This is a serious job and we will continue to have a responsible attitude, and in spite of the existing differences, we are trying to finalize the issue (of Kosovo) as soon as possible,” Polt said.
