The UN Security Council will convene to discuss Kosovo on Monday or Tuesday, Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić has told B92.

Jeremić said that Serbia had received assurances that the six-point plan would not be amended.
The UN secretary-general’s spokesman Brandon Varma said that there was a chance that Ban Ki-moon might publish his report on the UNMIK reconfiguration and EULEX deployment by the end of the week.
However, Varma added that publication of the report might once again be postponed, as consultations were still ongoing among UN ambassadors.
The spokesman could not say whether the report, which is expected to contain recommendations for UNMIK’s reconfiguration in accordance with the six-point agreement made with Belgrade, would be amended or not.
Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić expects the UN Security Council to adopt the EULEX deployment report which includes Belgrade’s demands, including the one that the EU mission must not be based on the Ahtisaari Plan.
Jeremić emphasized that the agreement between Serbia and the United Nations had been supported by all the UN member-states and that he expected it to be adopted unanimously.
“We’re hoping that the Security Council session will be held next week and that it will have the opportunity to discuss the Ban Ki-moon report,” he said.
President Boris Tadić said yesterday that Serbia had done everything it could and that he expected the United Nations plan to be implemented in the “near future.”
He said that the six-point agreement upheld the integrity and legitimate rights of all the parties involved.
Munter: U.S. backs plan
U.S. Ambassador Cameron Munter says that U.S. Under Secretary of State Daniel Fried had very direct and meticulous talks with leaders in Priština concerning the UNMIK reconfiguration, and that he believes that the plan is a good basis for further moves.
“We had very serious talks with Kosovo officials, who did not accept the six-point plan, but we believe that the plan is acceptable and a good basis for further action,” he said.
“We want to stress that all sides agree that the deployment of the EU mission in Kosovo will enhance stability for all who live there and protect the minority communities. That’s why the fundamental question is—how to bring that about?” said Munter.
