Football supporters clash near St. Sava's Temple

A mass fight broke out on Thursday night near the Temple of St. Sava in Belgrade between supporters of Red Star and Partizan, local media reported.

The police had to intervene, while the medical emergency service said that two persons were injured.

Video footage of the incident shows that those involved used poles and flares to fight.

According to media reports, the fight broke out when Red Star supporters "found out about a new location" where Partizan fans planned to celebrate their club's championship title.

So far, Partizan supporters have celebrated by burning flares in various landmarks around the capital, including the Kalemegdan Fortress, the Avala Tower, and Ada Bridge.

The police in the central Serbian town of Kragujevac on Friday arrested a US citizen suspected of sexual harassing two women and injuring police officers.
